THE TREATMENT OF INORGANIC WASTE – AN INTERVIEW WITH EUROPEAN EXPERT

In organization of Council for protection of environment of City of Nis in the hall of City house was held meeting of interested sides with Mr. Ewaldo Spitaler, European expert for managing of inorganic waste. Mr. Spitaler currently managing project of technical support to the local administrations for building treatment plant of inorganic waste on national level financed by European Union. According to Sonja Popovic, president of the Council, Mr. Spitaler many remember while he as expert of GTZ worked on improvement of managing of waste in Nis. On this meeting is exchanged information of the current projects, work of public utility enterprises, NGO sector and models of privatization it this sector. Director of PUE “Mediana” Dragan Radisavljevic, in the presence of his associates, informed participants of the meeting with current projections of transformation and forms of privatization of this utility enterprise as and activities to resolve of City landfill, that is located on the territory of City Municipality of Palilula (www.palilula.eu). He thanked to Mr. Ewaldo Spitaler on the given guidelines for realization of aims of managing of waste in Nis` Region and to support that gives to the development of Nis` Mediana. Member of Council and president of EKOpolis Network, Dragan Vidojkovic, on this occasion presented project and activities of consortium of organizations of civil society, Agrovet Management Project – EKOPolis, on the preparation of National conference of biomass, that will be held in Nis and possibilities of using biomass in energetic purposes in Region.
